Daniel L. Scherry, 94, of Wakeman passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30th, 2022, in Lorain, Ohio. He was born on February 10, 1928, to the late Charles and Beatrice (nee Cecil) Scherry. Daniel was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. From there he went on to work and then retire from BF Goodrich. While there he received many awards for his contribution of multiple innovative ideas. He worked tirelessly and was a supportive teacher and great role model for his children. One of the many things he will be remembered for is being an expert model builder who enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. His involvement and love for his church shined with his countless projects and service to his parish.
Daniel will be deeply missed by his loving children, Mary (Tom) Huerner, David (Nancy) Scherry, Kathy Ode, Cindy Scherry, Chris (Judy) Scherry, Anne Deliman, Lisa (Todd) Dickey, John (Tracey) Scherry, Mike (Beth) Scherry; a legacy of treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren; and siblings, Gilbert, Gerry and Bernadette.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and brother, Leonard.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3rd from 4:00-7:00 PM at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, OH 44889. A service will be held in Daniel's honor on Thursday, August 4th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 46 East Main Street, Wakeman, Ohio at 10:30 AM. He will be laid to rest immediately following at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Avon, Ohio.
