On September 29, 2022, Mr. Daniel Ogden of McAllen, Texas took his last breath in his home surrounded by loved ones. Born September 16, 1939 to Rudolph and Ann Ogden in Illinois, Dan was life long resident of the Rio Grande Valley.
After graduating with a degree in Architecture from Texas A&M University in College Station Daniel joined the United States Navy. Dan visited countries throughout the world serving his country as a Naval Intelligence Officer. Upon honorable discharge from the Navy, Daniel married Linda in Panama and soon moved to the valley where they raised their five children.
In 1968 Dan began working with Zeb Rike (architect) and was soon made partner to form the firm Rike-Ogden Architects (currently ROFA architects). Dan worked on hundreds of projects throughout Texas and the United States designing buildings from large school complexes to city hall facilities. Dan served on several associations throughout his career including serving as President of the American Institute of Architects.
Shortly after retirement Dan met the second love of his life, Darlene. Dan and Darlene enjoyed spending time with each other traveling the country to see family, cruise the oceans, and play games with friends and family.
Preceded in death by Linda, Darlene and parents, Daniel is survived by sisters Peggy (Dave) and Patricia, children Tina (George), Michael (Tanya), Amianne (Christian), Staci (Daniel) and Laura (Sergio) as well as 3 nephews, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchilden.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022 from 6-8pm at Kreidler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5th, at the RGV Sate Veteran's Cemetery in Mission.
