Daniel Joseph Pilkington III, age 53, of Stanardsville, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021 in Charlottesville, Va.
Dan was born February 22, 1967 in Fairfax, Va., to Daniel Joseph Pilkington Jr. and Carol L. Pilkington. He went to high school at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Va.
He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Melanie Pilkington, on May 27, 2016. They live on a beautiful lake in Stanardsville, Va., where he loved to fish! He was very adventurous and fearless. He loved his motorcycles and cars. He was also quite the athlete as a child. He was extremely bright, witty and funny. He will be missed dearly.
Dan is preceded in death by his mother, Carol L. Pilkington; grandmothers, Edith Howell and Maxine Pilkington; and grandfathers, William C. Howell and Daniel J. Pilkington Sr.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Melanie Pilkington; father, Daniel Joseph Pilkington Jr.; and siblings, Cassandra Pilkington Flores and William Brian Pilkington.
We would like to thank all the loving and caring doctors and nurses at UVA for taking care of Dan while he was there.
Dan will be cremated at Hill & Wood Funeral Home - Greene Chapel in Ruckerville, Va. We will have a Celebration of Life in the Summer of 2021.
