Daniel Fairchild, 88, of Comanche, passed from this life Saturday, December 5, 2020. The family has entrusted arrangements for Daniel to Heartland Funeral and Cremations of Comanche. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Daniel's life will be held at a later date.
Daniel Myron Fairchild was born January 10, 1932, in Westbrook, TX, to Milo Myron and Annie Marie (Hart) Fairchild. Daniel attended and graduated from Forsan High School and later attended Odessa College for two years. Daniel served four years in the United States Air Force, was stationed Colorado Springs, CO, and was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant. On August 5, 1950, in Big Spring, TX, Daniel and Deffie Zona Merworth were married. Daniel worked in the Petrol Chemical industry as an Operational Consultant for El Paso Products-Kinder Morgan, Inc. He worked an additional 10 years for foreign oil vendors around the world. Daniel loved his family, ranching, sports, and especially playing football. As All-State player, he was known as "Dapper Dan" across the State of Texas in 1949-1950. Daniel was a Christian and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 70 years, Deffie Fairchild; son, Myron Fairchild; grandchildren, Brian Lee Fairchild, Meghann Fairchild-Poe, Dana Michele Strong, John O'Dell, and James O'Dell; great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Brinklee Fairchild, Anna Lynn and Colton Raines. He was preceded in death by daughter, Dana Lynn Fairchild, son, Russell Wayne Fairchild; parents, Milo Myron and Annie Marie Fairchild, and sister, Mary Ann Phillips.
