Daniel Bogumil, 86, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Treasure Coast Hospice.
Dan was born July 18, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He graduated from GAR High School and received his bachelor's degree from Rivier University in Nashua, NH. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air Force and built a successful career as an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie.
Dan was an avid golfer and enjoyed many other sports throughout his lifetime including tennis, hiking, biking and skiing. He also embraced his love of the outdoors with many rides on his Harley. He had a true passion for photography and has blessed us with many mementos of his amazing talent.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Bogumil and Mary Cherezsko; brothers, Stanley Bogumil, Jr. and Gerald Bogumil.
He was a devoted husband and loving father and is survived by his wife Carole; his four children, Dan Bogumil, Jr. (Laura), Deborah Viens (Dom), Dena DeMarco (Eric), and Donna Nilson (Ken); two stepchildren, Lori Capar (Greg) and David Skiles (Katrena); a sister-in-law, Patricia Bogumil; sixteen adoring grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private service at the National Veteran's Cemetery will be held and a celebration of Dan's life will be scheduled for family and friends at a later date. Memorial donations may be given in Dan's name to Treasure Coast Hospice or the American Heart Association.
