Mr. Robert Daniel "Dan" Rhodes, 67, of Indian Hill Road, Elberton, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Nancy Hart Nursing Center.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Elbert County on August 11, 1957, son of the late Thomas Swift Rhodes and Sarah Rachel Vaughn Rhodes. He was a graduate of Elbert County High School and worked in the granite quarry industry all of his life, retiring from Eagle Granite Company. Dan was a lifelong member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. One of Dan's favorite pastimes was eating at Bootie's Fish House.
Surviving are his sister, Linda Teasley of Elberton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Thomas Rhodes; and sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Childs.
Memorial services celebrating Dan's life will be conducted on Saturday, December 28, at 2:00p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Creason and Douglas Huff officiating. Burial will be with his parents and brother in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
