Dale E. Smith, 72 of Plainfield, passed away on March 10, 2022. He was born on February 01, 1950 in Crawfordsville to the late Kenneth E. and Opal A. (Patterson) Smith. He married Margaret J. "Peggy" on November 05, 1979 in Indianapolis. Dale was an engineer supervisor for A T & T for 32 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed traveling, watching NASCAR races and most recently doing stained glass. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Peggy Smith of Plainfield; children, Michael Smith (Michelle) of Crawfordsville, Tracey Wagner of Ionia, MI., Scott Wiggins (Paula) of Greencastle; brother, Robert E. Smith of Mace, IN.; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. His parents and grandson, Derrick Martin, preceded him in death. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements.
