Dale Rio passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Blake Medical Center of natural causes. Born June 4, 1936, and raised in Chicago, IL, he was the baby in the family of the late Frank and Jenny Rio. Dale proudly served in the US Army. He then attended and graduated with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Business from the University of South Florida, in Tampa. He taught for over 30 years at Manatee Vo-Tech and Manatee Technical College in Business Education. In 1983-84, he was chosen as Outstanding Vocational Educator for Manatee County. He was loved by his students as a teacher. Dale ushered for many years at the 11 am Mass for St Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradenton. He was always a well-dressed, kind, and friendly man. Dale was well liked and thought of highly as a giving and wonderful person with a contagious laugh. He had a love of music and new cars.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Jo, Mary, Ozzie, and Harold.
He will be remembered and missed by his wife of over 40 years, Linda Rio; his daughter, whom he loved dearly, Jessica Jenna (J.J.) Rio of Miami; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews and all who knew him.
Private services attended by close family and friends was held at Skyway Memorial Gardens, 5200 US Highway 19N, Palmetto www.skywaymemorial.com. He loved the song "My Way" by Frank Sinatra and he lived his life on his own terms. This song was part of his tribute.
