Dale D. Earnest passed away suddenly on February 25th, 2021 just shy of his 85th birthday. He suffered from Dementia and was living in an adult family home. Dale grew up in North Loup, Nebraska. He had 2 sisters and a brother. Dale joined the Army after high school and was stationed in Washington State at Fort Lewis. He served two years. He met his wife Donna in Washington. They were married for 9 years and had 4 children. Dale loved to travel with his kids which included several adventures to Nebraska. Dale worked for the Weyerhaeuser Company for 31 years. He retired in 1991 at the age of 55. Dale spent most of his adult life bowling at his favorite lanes Tyee, Evergreen, and Glacier. He continued bowling in his retirement years. Bowling brought him joy. He could bowl right and left handed. He also managed to score a 300 with both hands. You could find him at McDonalds almost every day for breakfast. If he missed a day or two the staff or patrons would call to check in on him. He loved the beauty of Washington and called it "God's Country". He took his kids on many scenic routes exploring the state. "We are going to take the long way home", he'd say. He also liked to hike in the area and Mount Pilchuck was one of his favorites. He enjoyed watching baseball and football. He was a fan of the Yankees and the New England Patriots. Dale loved to scare people and play practical jokes. He had quite a sense of humor. If you asked him how he was doing, the standard answer was "I'm Alive" or "Terrible". He leaves behind his daughter Carol Minnig (Eric), son Randy Earnest (Tammy), daughter Julie Flaig (Jim), and daughter Karin Chavez (Jim). He also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He joins his father William, mother Helen, brother Bill, sister Jean, and sister Joan. We are sure they are eating popcorn, laughing, and living it up now that they are back together. Dale did not want a service, so the kids are doing a hike to Mount Pilchuck in honor of his wishes.
