Dale J. Bartizal, 91, of Naples, Florida (previously of Vermilion, Ohio) died January 28, 2024, in Naples, Florida after a brief illness. He was a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Marketing.
Dale and his family moved from Glen Ellyn, Illinois in 1967 to Avon Lake, Ohio. He opened his own Western Auto hardware store in Vermilion, Ohio and successfully managed it from 1967 to 1973. His family moved to Vermilion in 1971 after a devastating house fire. It was his love of boating, fishing and the community that brought Dale to Vermilion.
Dale entered the banking industry first as a branch manager of the Lorain National Bank in Avon Lake, Ohio in 1973. Shortly after, he was chosen to manage the new Elyria branch. In 1983, he became the Vermilion branch manager and a Vice President of Lorain National until his retirement in 1994. While working at the bank, Dale held the title of Vermilion Income Tax Administrator. He also held the position of President of the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Donna of 55 years and his parents, John and Olive (nee: Wistain) Bartizal. Dale is survived by his sons Kenneth of Vermilion, Ohio, Steven (Melinda) of Amherst, Ohio; grandsons Ryan (Jenna) of Avon, Ohio, David (Catherine) of Waltham, Massachusetts, Nathan of Amherst, Ohio; great grandsons Evan and Mason of Avon, Ohio, sister Norma Robinson of Hickory, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
Dale will be laid to rest with his wife at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion, Ohio. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
