Graveside Services for Mr. D. Maynor Dykes, 83, who entered into rest January 3, 2021, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Posey Funeral Directors Facebook page.
Mr. Dykes was a native of Attapulgus, GA, having made North Augusta his home for the past 59 years.
He was a graduate of Attapulgus High School where he excelled in math, science, and athletics. Mr. Dykes also graduated from Georgia Southern University and the Harvard School of Public Health. After 43 years of service, Mr. Dykes retired from SRS and enjoyed a second career as an engineering consultant. He was most proud of his work with the space program on the International Space Station. A member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta, Mr. Dykes was a past president of the North Augusta Yellow Jacket Club and a member of both the Mayflower Society and the Clan Wallace Society. Mr. Dykes enjoyed golfing, football, and hunting in his spare time. He has now joined his 11 siblings and parents, Annie S. and Elwood W. Dykes, in heaven.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary McNorrill Dykes; a son, Austin Dykes; and a daughter, Susanne Dykes.
