Czeslaw Brzostek, 79, a beloved husband, loving dad, adoring grandfather obtained his angel wings on June 22, 2021. Born on March 4, 1942 in Poland to Wladyslaw and Helena (Deptula) Brzostek, he lost his mother at a very young age and still grew into one of the kindest, loving, sweetest men that this world has ever known. In his younger years, he served in the Polish army. On weekends, while still in Poland, he would bring his accordion and play it for peoples' weddings. Dad was an expert on the accordion, learning from his dad, but he could pick up a harmonica or play an organ just by finding the right notes. Not only could he play the instruments, but was a great dancer as well, when a fast Polka came on you knew your feet were leaving the floor when he spun you.
Czeslaw and Irena exchanged letters initially and after several months of dating were married. Two years ago celebrating fifty years of marriage, their love for each other and devotion to each other was evident in many ways. He referred to his wife, daughters and grandkids as his "skarbulki"-treasures.
Dad worked many jobs so that no one would want for anything but loved being a Dziadzi the most. Money at times was tight, but there were never any times that dad wouldn't be working! He worked as a machine operator at Emhart/Corbin Russwin/Assa Abbloy for over 30 years, while also working second jobs at the same time as a maintenance cleaner in the evenings or as an asphalt layer with Grecki Paving. Although daddy always worked hard, he made it a priority to obtain his US citizenship and time for his family and friends. If someone needed something, he would be the one that they called. If something was broken, he knew or would figure out how to fix it. What others felt was trash to him was a project! An old tv tube cabinet became a bar with a spinning interior and lights. More than one broken lawn tractor became usable as he had a knack for fixing things. When he used that lawn tractor, the lawn was mowed to perfection and no grass clippings could be found on the driveway or sidewalk-even if that meant it took twice as long. Daddy always took pride in his appearance and being over six feet tall, he would wear his Sunday best when going out and hours having the perfect garden. His faith was strong and he had attended midnight mass for Christmas Eve for over 30 years missing but one mass due to illness.
Out of all the things he did and accomplished, he was most proud of his family. His world after retirement, revolved around them even more. On Valentine's Day when his daughters and wife were still sleeping, he would leave chocolate candy hearts on the foot of their beds before he left for work so that these treats were found when we woke up. Even after we left our childhood home, he would still do special things that would be an everlasting list.
Czeslaw was predeceased by his parents, Wladyslaw and Halina (Deptula) Brzostek, in-laws, Edward and Monika Niemierowko, his sister, Halina Pliszka, and his sister and brother-in-law, Thaddeus and Jasia Backiel.
Leaving to mourn with heavy hearts, he leaves his wife Irena, children, Donna and Mike Grossi, Teresa Brzostek, Helen and Tony Concepcion. His "ulubione skarbulki", Isabella, Angelina, Jacob and Alexander. His sister and brothers-in-law Czeslaw Pliszka, George and Donna Baranowski, Kazik and Teresa Niemierowko and Chester and Maryann Niemierowko, along with his many beloved nieces and nephews. We will miss you Kochany Czesiu, Tata, I Dziadzi. You have taught us so many things that we will always have and be because of you!
