Cynthia Lyn Markos, 81, of Dickinson, passed away May 6, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Cindy was born July 30, 1940 to Remegius and Craig Parker in Houston, Texas. She was a member of the Seabrook United Methodist Church. Cindy was an avid square dancer, serving as past president of the Houston Square and Round Dance Council, a lifetime member of Frontier Squares, and honorary member of Strawberry Squares. Her artistic gifts and her love of strawberries was legendary.
Cindy was preceded in death by her birth parents, her adopted father, Richard Ray Cole, and husbands Donald Eugene Acree, and Homer Markos.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Donna Marie Acree Biondi and husband Roberto, and Christine Marie Markos Guerrero and husband Andrew Guerrero; sons Thomas Richard Acree, Sr. and William Homer Markos; grandchildren Jessica Marie Biondi, Alessandro Biondi, Thomas Richard Acree, Jr., Travis James Acree, Jessica Marie Guerrero, Andrew Guerrero, Jr., Dana Lyn Guerrero; and great-grandchildren Leonardo James Biondi, Licia Marie Ricci, Rocco Ricci, Fiona Florence Biondi, Gabriel Beckwith, Lorenzo Legend Guerrero, and Ava Leah Guerrero.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Forest Park Lawndale. A celebration of life within the square dance community will be held at a later date.
