Cynthia "Cindy" Jo Luza (Tidrington), a lifelong resident of Anacortes, passed away on January 29, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on January 25, 1951 to Arthur and Maxine Lang. After graduating from Anacortes High School, she moved north to attend Western Washington University and earned her Bachelor's Degree.
Cindy worked hard as a medical receptionist, in the food service, and as a florist in Anacortes, but her greatest passion was cooking. Her love for the culinary arts was instilled in her at an early age due to her mother, Maxine's, influence. Friends and family would make a special effort to visit just to experience some of Cindy's unforgettable homecooked meals. No doubt, her kitchen was the heart of her home.
Another great love of Cindy's was flowers. Not only outside and around the house, but inside as well. When she had the time, Cindy enjoyed curling up to read a good book surrounded by her flowers.
Cindy will be remembered for her infectious laughter. Time spent with her best friend, Jill Dunton-Waldron, is when she would laugh the most.
Cindy and her partner, Terry, had just reached their 42nd year together. Over four decades together may be a lifetime for some, but it wasn't enough time for Terry.
She was a special woman and will be deeply missed by all those lucky enough to know her. Simply put, she made people's lives better.
Cindy is survived by her longtime partner, Terry Tidrington; mother, Maxine Lang; son Jedd Luza; daughters Shelley (Richard) Horak and Heather (Eric) Knudson; grandchildren Samantha Horak, Austin Knudson, Kylee Knudson, Eamon Gilden, and Norrie Knudson; sisters Cathy (Tom) LaCroix, Candy (Randy) Rohrbach; aunt Joan Volinteen, and numerous well-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Memorials in Cindy's name are suggested to Hospice of the Northwest, 227 Freeway Drive STE A, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 or https://www.hospicenw.org/how-you-can-help/make-a-donation/
