Cindy was born September 11,1957, in Savannah, Georgia, a daughter of the late Mary Jane Stone and James Franklin Dismukes of Okolona, Mississippi. She and David were married on May 18, 1991. Her first career was as an Import Cargo Coordinator for Strachan Shipping of Savannah and as an Import Manager for Lykes Lines of Charleston. Her second career was as a Registered Nurse for the Medical University of SC. Cindy had two degrees in Nursing and also enjoyed playing classical piano. She also loved listening to the symphony and learning about the various time periods in music, such as Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic. Cindy's favorite composer was Lugwig von Beethoven, with Johann Sebastian Bach a close second. Another passion was the environment, especially climate change. This led to an interest in birds and other wildlife. She was concerned about the loss of habitat for all animals as well as land.
Cindy is survived by her husband, her daughter Hannah and fianc?e Aaron Latham, sister Debra Grimes (John), her brother Jim Dismukes (Caroline), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to the Charleston Symphony Orchestra (www.charlestonsymphony.org), or to the National Wildlife Federation (www.nwf.org).
