Cynthia Dent George passed away unexpectedly at home May 14th. She was born on December 1, 1942. She was predeceased by her father, Marion Hamer, mother, Olga Hamer, and daughter Rebecca Shulz, (husband, Igor.)
She is survived by her sons Maury George Jr., and Kenneth George, sister, Elizabeth Buckmaster, (husband, John} and two grandchildren, Alexandra Arwood (husband, Jake) and Jonathan George (wife, Robyn) and one great-granddaughter, Josephine.
Cynthia was born in North Carolina. In 1953 she moved to Hughesville, MD with her family. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended St. Joseph College. Upon leaving college Cindy worked for NASA and later went to work for FAA where she spent many happy and dedicated years.
Cindy had a vibrant personality and never minced words. She loved to play bridge and enjoyed trivia games and was dedicated to the care of her dog, Charlie.
Cindy was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was looking forward to the arrival of another great -grandchild.
A Memorial Gathering will be held July 20 at the St. Mary's New Port gravesite at 1:00 pm.
