Cynthia Patterson Douglas (86) of Bruce, Mississippi passed away on November 7, 2024. Cynthia grew up in Dillwyn, Virginia. She was a graduate of The University of Richmond and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where she met the love of her life, Bobby Douglas. Cynthia treasured being a pastor's wife and faithfully served with Bobby in Tennessee, Arizona, and Mississippi for over 60 years. Cynthia also treasured being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Time with family was her favorite. Time with family at the beach was her ultimate favorite! Cynthia wrote for Lifeway Christian Resources for 22 years. She also served as a Sunday School teacher for children and young adults. Above all, Cynthia loved Jesus Christ, her personal Lord and Savior. She encouraged her family to love Jesus and serve Him faithfully. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Douglas, son Bobby Douglas Jr. (Christy), daughter Susan McCall (Andrew), son Caleb Douglas (Penny), eight granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Luther and Ethlene Patterson, brother Bill Patterson (Estene), and sister Marguerite (Sam). Arrangements include visitation on Sunday, November 10, from 3:00-5:00 pm at Parker Funeral Home, Bruce, Mississippi and a memorial service on Monday, November 11 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Bruce, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at First Baptist Church Bruce, Mississippi, or the church of your choice.
