Cynthia Rodrigues Cimino passed away on November 5th, 2021. She was born in Boston, MA to Benjamin and Lila Vigil Rodrigues who predeceased her. She spent her childhood in Marshfield, MA until moving with her family to Tampa as a teenager.
Cynthia attended the University of South Florida and University of Florida where she earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She completed her internship and fellowship in Neuropsychology at Brown University in Providence, RI. She was a professor, taught, clinically practiced, and researched, at the University of South Florida in the Departments of Psychology and Neurology until retirement after thirty years. She enjoyed the rest of her years alongside her retired husband, her son, sister, brother, other family and friends.
Cynthia is survived by her husband Patrick Cimino, MD, her son, Anthony, her sister Elizabeth Gonzalez (Juan) and brother Ronald Rodrigues all of Tampa. She is survived by a large extended family, many in Massachusetts, a large extended family of in-laws in the Tampa area, as well as numerous beloved students, colleagues, friends and neighbors.
A visitation will take place at the Centro Asturiano de Tampa on November 19th from 10:00am-11:30am, with services beginning at 11:30am. An interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the USF Foundation, Dr. Cynthia Cimino Memorial Fund in Psychology.
