Corey Gordon Sleaper
SAN ANTONIO - Corey Gordon Sleaper, age 40, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, April 1, 2016.
Corey was born June 15, 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to the proud parents Elbert and Pamela Sleaper; he graduated from American Fork High School in 1993. Corey served in the Navy from 1994 until 1997, attaining the rank of Petty Officer, 3rd Class. On May 7, 2005, he married the love of his life, Ashley Pool daughter of Bill and Rachel Pool of Lafayette, Louisiana and Paul and Sherry Fiester of Texas.
He has lived in San Diego, California; Monroe, North Carolina; Houston, Texas, Lafayette, Louisiana; and most recently Austin, Texas and worked at Weatherford for the last 16 years.
Corey will be especially remembered for the deep love for his wife, children and family, incredible long standing friendships, the ability to find humor in just about any situation, and his ability to think of everyone else but himself.
Survivors include wife Ashely Sleaper, daughters Rori and Marli, of Lafayette, Louisiana; parents Elbert and Pamela Sleaper, of San Antonio, Texas; brother Chad Sleaper, wife Amberlie Hirst Sleaper of American Fork, Utah; sister Carrie Sleaper Boyd, husband Justin Boyd of Conroe, Texas; sister Cassie Sleaper Henson, husband Kyle Henson of Bountiful, Utah; and his many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday April 9, 2016 at Trinity Bible Church located at 130 E Broussard, Lafayette, Louisiana. Reception will be held following at the home of Bill and Rachel Pool.
