Corey Dobbs was born June 3, 1977, at UAMS Little Rock, AR. Corey “Kidd” transitioned this life to his eternal life on July 2, 2022, surrounded by family and friends at his mother’s home.
Corey accepted Jesus as his Lord & Savior, at an early age, at Second Baptist Church. Corey attended the Dumas School District, and later received his G.E.D.
Kidd, as he was so fondly known, was a passionate gardener. He had what you call a green thumb. It is believed his uncles were a little jealous of the beauty and health of his garden. Although his health was rapidly failing, Corey was concerned about planting a garden to share with the community.
Another one of his many talents was laying concrete alongside his dad and uncles in the family business.
Kidd loved his family. He often talked about having more family get togethers. Kidd’s house was the place to go whenever family members would come down from out of town. All the younger generation would go to Kidd’s house to relax and have fun.
Before his death, Kidd rededicated his life to Christ, under the leadership of Rev. Larry D. Alexander.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Michael Dobbs, Bryant
Dobbs and Terrence Dobbs and one sister, Shannon Dobbs.
There will be a lifetime of love and memories remembered by his wife, Elvieda Smith-Dobbs of Dumas, AR; his daughter, Deneisha Dobbs of Winston-Salem, NC; his son, Devon Dobbs of Winston-Salem, NC; his parents, Clarence and Flora Dobbs of Dumas, AR; his brothers, Jeffrey Dobbs of Oklahoma City, OK and Andre Dobbs of Dumas, AR; his sisters: Sherry (Jeremy) Thomas of Alexander, AR, Shantail Dobbs of Carson, CA and Sharon Dobbs of Fort Smith AR; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
