Constance "Connie" L. Johnson, 76, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away at home on June 21, 2021, with her loving husband "TJ" by her side.
Connie was born on June 25, 1944 to the late Richard John Parkes and Ruth Evelyn (Spohn) Parkes in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Kutztown Area High School in 1962, she attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor's degree in food service management. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. After finishing college, she worked multiple careers including: hospital dietitian, school food service director, owner of CJ's Fancy Pantry, and assistant food service director of the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg. Connie was an avid Yankee's fan and an exceptional baker. She also volunteered for Our Savior Lutheran Church, including their peanut butter egg fundraiser at Easter and German Festival.
Connie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Terry "TJ" Johnson, her brother R. Ned (Sue) Parkes, her niece Jessica (Matthew) Hoffer, her nephew Thomas Parkes, and her great-nephew Benjamin Hoffer, as well as many beloved family and friends.
There will be a private graveside service held at Lyons Cemetery at the family's convenience, with a celebration of life to follow in Harrisburg at a later date. Please check back regularly to BitnerCares.com for the most updated information.
