Constance (Connie) Withers Grote
Connie was born in 1949 in Pasadena, TX to John Withers and Minnie Ursula Withers, n?e Frank. One of five children, she lived in Houston before moving to Northern Virginia.
Connie loved to read, play games, dance, and visit Harbour Island, Bahamas. She was a fan of conch fritters and pink sand beaches. She also loved all things related to learning and education. She was an elementary school teacher for 30 years. Going above and beyond just teaching her students, Connie went to great personal lengths to make sure her students succeeded by supporting them and their families. Her dedication to other people's success was profound.
Connie was preceded in death by her father, John; mother, Minnie Ursula; and newborn son, Curtis James, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Mary Marlin; brother, John Withers, Jr. (Sandra); brother, Tom Withers (Patricia); brother, Harry Withers (Jan); former spouse Curtis James and their son, Matthew; daughter-in-law, Tamara; grandchildren, Annabelle, Nolton, and Bennett; many nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
