Constance A. George (Connie) of Dunbarton, NH passed away after a period of declining health.
Connie was born in Manchester, NH, to Ralph and Kathryn Stahl. She graduated from Central High School. Connie received her Under Grad and Master's Degree from Keene State College. She also taught Special Education in the Manchester School District, Philbrook Center in Concord, and retired in 2004 from the Conval School District.
She was a Corresponding Secretary of NHREA, and also served on the Legislative Committee. Connie was a devoted teacher and advocate for special needs children. Upon retirement, she taught young adults moving into the Special Education field at Granite State College.
For many years she was involved in Special Olympics. She enjoyed boating, gardening, knitting, and other crafts.
In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her longtime partner, Elwin (Turk) Carleton in December of 2020.
Family members include her children: Jill, Shawn, Phyllis, Scott and his wife, Karen. She also leaves behind her sister Elaine Hawthorne, brothers Robert Timpson and Peter Perry, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11 am in the Dunbarton Center Cemetery, Dunbarton, NH 03046 for family and close friends.
