Connie Tatta-Colangelo, 95 of Austintown, passed away Tuesday evening, February 6th, at the Hospice House in Poland.
She was born April 26, 1928 in New Rochelle, NY, a daughter of Vincenzo and Adelina (Cesario) Correale.
Connie was a 1946 graduate of Albert Leonard High School in New Rochelle. She came to the Youngstown area in 1957 and spent her early adult years raising and caring for her family. Her first husband Anthony D. Tatta, preceded her in death in 1969.
She then met her second husband, Joseph P. Colangelo, Sr.,and they were married in January, 1985.
Connie worked as a secretary for the Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services for several years, prior to retiring.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Austintown. Connie enjoyed traveling and gatherings with her family and friends. She was a kind, loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her husband, Connie is survived by two daughters; Nancy Sargent, of Austintown and Debra (Thomas) Tatta-Agostinelli, of Lexington, SC. She also leaves behind three step-children; Joseph (Patty) Colangelo, Jr., of Pittsburgh, Michael (Becky) Colangelo, of Bridgeville, PA, and Carla Ann Colangelo, of Pittsburgh; a brother, Basil (Renate) Correale, of Canton; and six grandchildren; Michelle, Anthony, Dominic, Vincent, Michael, and Madeline.
Besides her first husband, Connie was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Palma Correale.
Private funeral services for Connie's family will be held.
She will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
In lieu of flowers Connie's family requests donations be made in her memory to Hospice of The Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
Arrangements for Mrs. Colangelo are being provided by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.
