Connie Jane Nagel peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2021, surrounded by her family at the age of 67.
She was born on August 7, 1953 in Easton, Maryland the daughter of the late Thomas Willin and Helen Lord Willin.
She graduated from Colonel Richardson High School with the class of 1971. After her education she married her sweetheart, Richard Lee Nagel on January 1, 1972. They made their home in Federalsburg and raised their two children, Dawn and Mark. She was a loving wife and mother.
A devoted woman of faith, Connie was a member of Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford where she faithfully and joyfully served. Through the years she led children to salvation through Sunday School and AWANA, sang in the choir, directed the children's Christmas program and used her skills to decorate for special events. Connie loved sharing her unwavering faith in the Lord with her family and friends, keeping her bible at hand and scripture close to her heart.
Connie found joy in caring for her Black Lab, Cali, horse Koda, and many fish ponds. Recently, she rescued a litter of kittens and provided a loving home for them. Connie loved shopping in Lancaster with Dawn and bringing home a car full of country home d?cor; barely leaving room for them to see out the windows. She enjoyed fishing with Mark until all the bait was gone; sometimes for many hours, leaving Mark to secretly throw bait over the side of the boat. Their family trips to Disney led them to adventure from sun up to sun down and she enjoyed every minute of it. Most of all, she enjoyed their annual family vacation at the beach with her children and grandchildren. She loved watching them play in the ocean, eat around the table and reading her books on the beach. She had a knack for decorating her home and prepared it for each season. Connie was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. Her kitchen was always open.
Christmas was a special time for Connie, who enjoyed transforming her home for the holiday. She spent hours cooking, wrapping and finding just the perfect gift for each family member. The family is so grateful to have the memories of spending this past Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Richard, her daughter, Dawn Jamison of Seaford, her son, Mark Nagel and his wife Lori of Federalsburg; four grandchildren that she adored: Justin Jamison, Jordan Jamison, Kaylyn Nagel and Emma Nagel; and two special friends she called her sisters: Gail Nagel of Federalsburg and Daisy Swain of Rhodesdale.
The family is comforted in knowing that Connie is reunited with her Mom and Dad in Heaven and having a joyous celebration singing, playing the banjo, guitar, and accordion like they did so many years ago. She left a legacy to her family of God's amazing love and grace, and was an example to all who knew her. We look forward to the day we will be reunited in Heaven.
