Connie Garate Carroll, of Seminole went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 4, 2022. Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, TX at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, with Joe Stewart, Mike Carter and Jerry Ramirez officiating, burial to follow in Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole. Arrangements are being handled by Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. Family and friend visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Ratliff Funeral Home. Connie was born on February 8, 1944, in Calvert, Texas to Joe and Carmen Garate. She married the love of her life Tommy Carroll on January 26, 1979, in Lovington, New Mexico and moved to Seminole that same year. She was a beloved nurse for many years in Denver City and Seminole and loved her community. She loved antiques and antique hunting and became a hobby for her and Tommy for many years. Tommy and Connie owned and operated Looking Glass Antiques in Seminole for a few years. Connie was especially devoted to her family as they remained her primary focus throughout her life. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a wonderful giving person and those around her knew they could rely on her for anything they needed. She was always there to hold our hands and pray and loved all of those around her. She has been there through all the good times and was right there to lift you up during any bad times. She loved her siblings and friends and loved being on the go. She is survived by three daughters: Carmen Roberts and her husband Dale of Seminole, Dena Miller and her husband Matt of Argyle, Robin Thompson and her husband Trey of Shallowater, and a son Scott Norris of Lubbock. She is also survived by 4 sisters; Esther Nevarez of Denver City; Dolores Mullinax and husband Jimmy of Lubbock; Maggie Macias and husband Billy Joe of Hobbs, NM; Elsa Garcia and husband Steve of Farmington, NM; Joe Garate and wife Sue of Rawlings, Wyoming, sister-in-law Becky Garate of Denver City, and brother-in-law John Carroll. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly know her as Mema. Angela Tatsch and Bradley and children Layten and Roston Tatsch of Llano; Brady Roberts and Courtney Stephens of Lubbock; Kezlie and Landrie Thompson of Shallowater; and Kynnedy Miller of Argyle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Carroll, her parents Joe and Carmen Garate, her brother Jesse Garate, a granddaughter Shelbee Dayle Roberts and brother-in-law Johnny Nevarez.
