Conley Odell Atkins, age 76, of Thorn Hill passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021. He was saved at Bridgeport Church and later joined Cedar Springs Church. Conley worked for over 30 years for the State Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Mary Atkins, sisters Judy Greene and Geneva Jones, brothers Henley Atkins and Larry Atkins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Carter Atkins. Daughter Connie (Tony) Dalton of Washburn. Son Odell (Melissa) Atkins of Thorn Hill. Granddaughters Megan (Adam) Winstead of Bean Station, Sarah (Jerry) Johnson of Sneedville, and Emily Atkins of Thorn Hill. Grandsons Bryce Dalton of Washburn and Adam (Madelynn) Dalton of Knoxville. Great grandson Jeremiah Johnson of Sneedville. He is survived by one brother Lambert (Sue) Atkins of Washburn. Two sisters Imogene Jarnigan of Thorn Hill and Cleo Jarnigan of Talbot. As well as several nieces and nephews.
The family wants to give special thanks to Mechele Winstead, Shaunda Conley, Rhonda Moyers, Amedysis Home Health in Tazewell, and Amedysis Hospice in Morristown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday March 16th from 6 until 8 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday March 17th at 2 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. The graveside service will follow in the Wolfe Cemetery in Thorn Hill.
