Colette M. Gangl, 60 year old resident of Pierz, MN passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, MN with her husband and loving family by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father Aaron Nett officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Pierz, MN. A visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Monday, April 21, 2025 and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Tuesday all at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Caring for Colette and her family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Pierz, MN.
Colette Gangl was born on July 12, 1964, in Little Falls, MN, to Delores (Novak) and the late Charles Watercott. She grew up in Little Rock, MN, and later moved to Pierz, where she attended Pierz Healy High School and graduated with the Class of 1982. Colette was employed at Fingerhut in St. Cloud for 17 years before finding her true calling as a caregiver at Harmony House, where she worked for 22 years. Her compassionate heart and joyful spirit brought comfort to countless residents, many of whom became like family to her. On October 7, 1989, Colette was united in marriage to Mark Gangl at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, where she remained a devoted member throughout her life. Together, they cherished weekend casino trips and shared laughter and memories with close friends. Colette also enjoyed bowling in the mixed league at the Pierz Bowling Alley and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Colette is survived by husband, Mark Gangl of Pierz, MN; mother, Delores Watercott of Pierz, MN; mother and father-in-law, Edward and Carolyn Gangl of Pierz, MN; siblings, Kathy Watercott-Funk of Pierz, MN, Ron (Barb) Watercott of Sartell, MN, Tim (Joanie) Watercott of Pierz, MN, Carolyn (Bob) Brisk of Buckman, MN, and Pat (Sheila) Watercott of Pierz, MN; god-children, Dan (Bobbi) Brisk and Candice (Rob) Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul (Denise) Gangl of Lakeville, MN, Brian (Lori) Gangl of Pierz, MN and Wayne (Tammi) Gangl of Buffalo, MN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by father, Charles Watercott; sister, Maureen Watercott and niece, Pam Funk-Woitalla.
