Clyde James "Jim" Marler, age 77, passed away on October 19, 2024 at his home in Kermit TX. He was born on January 18, 1947 in Sweetwater, TX to Clyde M. and Ethel Pauline (Mallow) Marler. Clyde married Janet Reed on August 5, 1967 in Monahans, TX and they shared 57 wonderful years together.
Clyde was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was known to be an outdoorsman with a love of hunting and fishing. Clyde loved to work and had a reputation of being a very hard worker. He loved to travel and learn history, watch old westerns and cook for large groups of people. He was also a big fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. Clyde will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Pauline Marler; and sisters: Patsy Woods and Barbara Marler.
Clyde is survived by his wife: Janet Marler of Kermit, TX; sons: Brett Marler of Liberty Hills, TX; Colby Marler and wife Sarah of Midland, TX; sisters: Rosemary Churchwell and husband James of Midland, TX, "Twinkle" Leftwich Marler of Odessa, TX; grandchildren: Katelyn, Ashley, Audrey, Brody; and great-grandchild: Hunter
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 25, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Kermit, TX; officiated by Dudley Mullins.
