Clyde D. Fields, 89, of Greenwood, entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2021. He was born on June 6, 1932 in Quincy, Owen Co. Indiana to the late Arthur L. Fields and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Fields.
Clyde proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He received his Bachelors degree from Indiana Central and his Masters degree from Butler University. He was employed at Methodist Hospital as the Chief Operating Officer for 10 years and also at University of Indianapolis for 10 years as the Director of Planned Giving and Church Relations.
He married Barbara M. Ott on August 25, 1956 in Metamora, Indiana and they were married for 55 years until her passing on April 7, 2012.
He was a member of Center United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and the Kiwanis for over 45 years. He was very proud of his efforts in supporting the United Way, where he received the Campaign Volunteer of the Year in 1983.
Clyde leaves behind to treasure his memory, his two grandchildren, Christian and Hayden Bump; son-in-law, Joel (Sarah) Bump; sister, Marilyn S. (Kennith) Parks; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. (Ott) Fields; his three children, Gayla Jean Fields, Angela Kay Bump and Douglas J. Fields; four siblings, Richard L. Fields, George A. Fields, Stanley G. Fields and Elizabeth "Betty" J. Fields-Allen.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Center United Methodist Church, 5445 Bluff Road, Indianapolis, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at church. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Clyde's name may be made to Center United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
