Clifford Dale Diepenhorst, of Greensboro, GA, died peacefully and unexpectedly at home with his wife by his side on Thursday evening, September 9, 2021. He was 76. Clifford was born in Vriesland, MI on October 3, 1944, to the late Raymond and Ethel DeJonge Dipenhorst. He graduated from West Ottawa High School in Holland, MI in 1962. On April 30, 1977, he married the former Janet Kunkel, his wife of 44 years. He enjoyed a long and successful career as owner and operator of Piper Collectibles, Inc. in Sarasota, FL retiring in 2009 after twenty-eight years. Eleven years ago, he moved to Greensboro, GA from Sarasota, FL to play golf, enjoy nature especially birds and love life and he accomplished all of these. Cliff spent many wonderful times with his special golf buddies, Al, Clark, Joe, Harry and Wally. He was a member of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church in Eatonton. He had a great personality and was dearly loved. He will be missed by so many.
In addition to his wife Janet Diepenhorst of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his sons, Daniel (Karol) Diepenhorst of San Antonio, TX, Matthew Diepenhorst of Spring, TX, Mitchell (Kelly) Maris of North Port, FL and Bret Maris of Holland, MI; grandchildren: Joshua (Lucy) Diepenhorst of San Antonio, TX, Matthew Diepenhorst II of Spring, TX, Kyle McAllister of Nashville, TN, Noah McAllister of Gainesville, FL, and Desaree (Andrew) Lamacchia of San Antonio, TX; sister, Janice Overway of Holland, MI; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert, Diepenhorst.
The family will have a memorial service in celebration of his life at a later date. The family requests that any memorials be made to Atlas Ministry, Inc., 1500 S.
