Clifford Adam Foster, of Ringgold, passed away peacefully at home with his devoted wife by his side on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. He was born December 15, 1939 in Cooleemee, North Carolina to the late Dewey and Audrey Durham Foster.
After spending much of his childhood working on farms alongside his brothers and sisters, Cliff graduated from Davie County High School in 1958. His sharp mind and math skills led him to choose industrial engineering as his career. He worked in North Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, and South Carolina before moving back to Georgia in 1983 to work for Coronet Industries, where he retired in 2001.
Cliff loved the Lord and was of the Baptist faith. A man with a quick sense of humor and ready smile, he enjoyed playing golf, backgammon, basketball, cards, and computer and board games. He had a natural musical talent and could play any song by ear on the piano, guitar, and other instruments. He was especially fond of country, folk, and gospel music. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. His charm, warmth, and easy laugh will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Grady, Don, and Archie Foster.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Lynda Foster; children, Susan (Jeff) O'Bryant, David (Teresa) Foster, Sherrie (Lawson) Hunt, and Becky Barrer; siblings Carl (Debbie) Foster, Wanda Whitley and Phyllis Hursey; 5 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
