Cleon John "Jack" Hasara passed away on April 16, 2021 at the age of 83, at his home in Conroe, Texas.
Jack was born on July 11, 1937 in Waterbury, Connecticut, to parents John and Leocadia Hasara. In 1964, he moved to Willis Texas with his family where he attended Willis schools through the tenth grade. In 1953, Jack's family moved to Conroe, where they resided in a home on Sacred Heart Church property.
Jack attended Conroe High School for two years, and graduated Class of 1955. After graduating high school, Jack enlisted in the Army Reserves as a Combat Engineer. He served for 5 1/2 years before being discharged and returning to civilian life. On January 30, 1970, he married Paula Ainsworth, also of Conroe, and they had three children together - Lauren, Justin, and Chelsea.
Jack's primary occupation was owning and operating Conroe Cigarette Company, a tobacco and candy wholesale business, which he purchased prior to his enlistment. The delivery of candy and cigarettes to local business served as Jack's primary source of income until his retirement. Jack enjoyed trading jewelry and precious metals, and always had a special knack as a salesman. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and a great water skier. His hobbies included gardening, salt-water fishing, and bird hunting with his brothers. He enjoyed family vacations in Colorado, and social gatherings with friends at the 105 Caf? in Conroe. Jack was happiest when entertaining friends and family. He loved grocery shopping & preparing meals to share with others. Jack was a devoted husband and father, and a loving grandfather to his eleven grandchildren. Jack was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and attended daily mass until his health began to decline late last year.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John and Leocadia (Gizara) Hasara, his wife, Paula (Ainsworth) Hasara, brother Gerald Hasara; brother Bernard Hasara and sister-in-law Katheryn Hasara also sister, Lois (Hasara) Friddell.
He is survived by brother Alan Hasara; brother Kenneth Hasara & sister-in-law Patsy Hasara; brother James Hasara and sister-in-law Vonnie Hasara; Brother -in-law Roy Friddell and sister-in-law Barbara Hasara. Daughter, Lauren (Hasara) Mason and husband, David Mason of Farrar; son, Justin Hasara and wife, Sherry (Moulas) Hasara of Montgomery; daughter, Chelsea (Hasara) Kimbrough & husband Ricky Kimbrough of Montgomery; grandchildren, Sterling, Sage & fianc? Jared Ludwick, Struan, Stori, and Sable Mason; Ashlyn(Hasara) Manore & husband Michael Monore, Graham, Brinsley, and Waylon Hasara; Hudsen and Camden Kimbrough; first great grandchild, Halston Manore and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jack's Visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. A Rosary will be held at 7:30pm, also at Cashner Funeral Home following the visitation. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 2:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe. Interment will immediately follow in Garden Park Cemetery, also in Conroe.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jack's name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Donations can be made at Give (parishsoft.com) under fund name "In memory of Cleon "Jack" Hasara.
