Mr. Clayton Ray "Clay" Green, age 60, of Cave Spring, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at a hospital in Rome, GA.
Mr. Green was born in Floyd County, GA, on September 12, 1962, son of the late Tilmon Ray Green and the late Sylvia Jane Benton Green. He was a part of the last class to graduate from Cave Spring High School and went on to receive a machinist certificate from technical college. Mr. Green owned and operated Greenberry Farm in Cave Spring, where he raised Agnus Beef. He was a member of the Floyd County Cattleman's Association. Mr. Green was a loving husband, father and "Paw Paw" who loved his grandchildren more than anything. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Green was a member of Christ's Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Smith Green, Cave Spring, to whom he was married on January 27, 1990; 2 daughters, Ami Bowman (Chuck), and Ginger Davidson (Zac), both of Cave Spring; 6 grandchildren, Charlie Bowman, Carolyne Bowman, Claire Bowman, Catherine Bowman, Charlotte Bowman and Chase Bowman; and another grandchild on the way, Lyla Rae Davidson.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Bush Arbor Baptist Church with Mr. Don Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Bush Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2pm until service time at Bush Arbor Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are to assemble by 2:30pm on Sunday at Bush Arbor Baptist Church and include; Carey Harris, Nevin Sims, Kenny Sullins, Patrick Morgan, Eric Davidson, David Treglown, Stacey Prater, Dennis McCain and Jerry Itson.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of funeral arrangements.
