Clayton Leslie Davidson was born in Kingsford, MI, July 21, 1930. He attended Michigan Tech, where he served in the ROTC, and graduated (cum laude) in 1950 with a Chemical Engineering degree. After his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant and he got his orders for Korea, in 1952, he married Alice Mae Mitchell from Iron Mountain Michigan.
After he returned home from Korea, he resumed his career as a chemical engineer with Dow Corning and his home base being in Midland, Michigan. After receiving a master's degree in business, he lived and worked in Belgium and Brazil and worked as a consultant in Japan, Germany, England, Canada, Mexico, and Argentina. He retired in 1989 but worked as a consultant shortly until 1992.
He and Alice had four children, Richard, Sonya, Brad, and Jeff. Brad died with a heart condition shortly after being born. In 1997, Clay got his favorite title as Grandfather to Christopher and Cassidy. He and Alice lived in Florida and settled first in Flat Rock, and then Asheville, North Carolina.
