In Loving Memory,
Claudette Arlene Clemons
Claudette Arlene Clemons, age 83, a 22-year resident of Colville, WA, passed away on June 16, 2022 in Spokane, WA. Claudette was born on May 20, 1939 in Puyallup, WA, the daughter of Claude and Verna (Morgan) Roberts.
From a young age, Claudette lived on the west side of Washington in Kapowsin. This was just a short drive away from Spanaway, WA, where she graduated from Bethel High School. Shortly after graduation, Claudette made money by babysitting for neighbors, and working in a restaurant in Seattle. On May 28, 1958, Claudette met the love of her life, Vernon Clemons. Spending their life together, they celebrated their 64th anniversary of marriage this year.
Claudette loved spending time at the dirt track where she would watch cars race. She was an avid lover of the outdoors where she would spend countless hours camping, snowmobiling, and traveling. Claudette also picked up the skill of wine making. Living in Northeast Washington made Claudette into a Gonzaga fan for life, watching almost all of their sports games. Even though she acted like she didn’t, Claudette loved to cook. She spent many hours at the Arden Hall where she served dishes of food and also listened to some of her favorite music.
Claudette was loved and cherished by all her family and friends. Whenever her grandkids would ask how old she was, she would always respond with, “I am 99 years old, because you know grandmas are supposed to be old.” Claudette’s love for her family knew no boundaries, and was unwavering till the end.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon Clemons, at the home; three sons, Mike Clemons (Marcie), Wade Clemons (Colleen), and Jeffrey Clemons (Jennifer), all of Washington; daughter, Nancy Clemons (Van Johnson), of Washington; five grandchildren, Makayla, Dylan, Amanda, Kyle and Derik; three great grandchildren, Carter, Briggs, and Axel; and a host of extended family and friends.
