Claude Craybon "CC" Hudson, age 87, formerly of Raleigh, NC passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was a graduate of Youngsville High School in 1951. He served his country as a proud patriot in the US Armed Forces as an Army Corporal. Following his discharge in 1954, he worked as a telecommunications expert for Western Electric for over 36 years. He was an active member of Oak Level Church. CC was a longtime member of the BPOE Raleigh Lodge #735 where he served as Chairman of the Elks National Foundation Committee.
During his tenure he supported our U.S. Veterans and participated in numerous community volunteer programs. CC's talents were many, but most of all he was benevolent and charitable, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, partner, community volunteer and friend who appreciated spending time with those he loved. He enjoyed fishing with his family and attending NCSU football games.
CC is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lena Bell; and his wife, Alva Jane Hudson. He is survived by his longtime companion, Alice Morse; sons, Darryl and David; daughter-in-law, Stacey; sisters-in-law, Novella Shaw and Winne Sue Price ; and grandchildren: Thomas, Katherine, and Michael.
In lieu of flowers, CC asked that memorial contributions be made to the Elks National Foundation. Checks should be made payable to ENF and sent to Raleigh Elks Lodge #735, 5538 Lead Mine Rd, Raleigh, NC, 27612.
