Claude H. Coffman, 80, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
Claude was born May 29, 1940, in Topeka to Lloyd and Doris Harrower Coffman. On September 29, 1962, Claude and Doris Ann Williams were united in marriage enjoying over 58 years together. He served our country in the US Army.
Claude was a meat cutter and manager of the meat departments and of the grocery stores for many years, retiring from Falley's Markets. Claude enjoyed bowling, the friendships that sprang up and the fun of the activity, winning many awards and bowling three perfect games. He definitely had a "people gift". He was a magnet for children whom he loved. He greeted everyone, always had a smile and a joke; no derogatory word was ever spoken of him. Claude was devoted to and cherished his family. He will be sorely missed.
Grateful to have shared Claude's life are his wife, Doris Coffman; siblings, whom he loved and raised as his own, Thomas Coffman (Melanie), Karen Konrade (David); other siblings, Rose Miller (Jerry), Lloyd Coffman, Jr. (Janis), Raymond Coffman and Danny Coffman; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ricky and George Coffman, Patsy Holden and Martha Gibbs.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 9, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
