Clark A. Wright, 79, born on February 26, 1942 to Burt Z. Wright and Muriel Clark in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully in Sarasota Memorial Hospital following complications of Covid syndrome.
Clark grew up in Borden, Indiana and graduated from Wm. Borden High School in 1960. He was a loyal Borden Braves fan all of his life. He attended and graduated with a bachelor degree in education from Indiana Central, which is now The University of Indianapolis. Clark also served in the Army National Guard. He was an avid IU fan.
Clark started working at UPS in 1965 and retired in management in 1993. He worked hard and played hard. He and his wife Joanie, resided in Sellersburg, Indiana in Covered Bridge Golf Community and wintered in Sarasota, Florida. They enjoyed many trips around the world, playing golf, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 48 years, Joanie Wright; brother, Burt Wright; grandparents, Clarence and Gertrude Clark, who raised him and his brother; mother-in-law, Peachie Carlton; brother-in-law, Terry Slater.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Colson (Mike); son, Carlton Wright (Paige); grandchildren, Kyle Colson (Nicole), Shelby Nichols (Eli), Zene Colson, Kasey Lizdo, Mia Lizdo, Savannah Wright, Sydney Wright, Anola Wright, great grandchildren, Jordan and Asa Colson; sisters-in-law, Betty Salter, Judy Hizer (Bob); along with nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank Sarasota Memorial Hospital and staff for the excellent care he received.
Visitation will be 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday and 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday at the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
