Clarence William Lantz, Jr. "Bill", 99, of Middletown, MD passed away on October 15, 2024 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Hagerstown, MD. Born on February 14, 1925, he is the son of the late Clarence Sr. and Mary (Nee Finneyfrock) Lantz. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Frances Louise Lantz, and his son Stephen Scott Lantz.
Bill was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Burkittsville Ruritan. He was well known for being an early homebuilder in the Middletown area in the 1960's and 1970's, before working for Ft. Dietrick for over 25 years.
He is survived by his sons Lawrence W. Lantz and his wife, Marsha, of Hagerstown, MD and Richard W. Lantz, and his wife, Susan, of Greer, SC; grandfather to Kelley Marcus and her husband, Eric, Sarah Gray and her husband, Stephen, and Rich Carey and his wife, Karen; and great grandfather to Carly and Summer Marcus, Jazz Taylor-Marcus, Lucy Addison Gray and Leah Carey.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main Street, Middletown, MD at 1:00 pm. Friends will be received one hour prior. Interment private.
