On Saturday March 13, 2021, Clarence Ben Harvey passed away at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center surrounded by all his family. He was 74 years old.
Ben was born October 3, 1946 in Cambridge, Maryland, the son of the late Charles Robert Harvey and Anna Louise Harvey.
Growing up in Hurlock he spent many years volunteering for the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company where he was a life member and was inducted into the Firefighter Hall of Fame in 2018. He held many positions at HVFC including Chief from 1977-1979. Ben was an instructor for Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. He retired from Continental Can Company while also working for Federalsburg Police Department where he rose to the rank of Deputy Chief. He was a life member of Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company where he was most recently a Fire Police. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and was a member of Blue Knights Maryland V Motorcycle Club for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Julia Harvey, son Chuck Harvey (Cathie); four stepchildren, Wally Eason (Bev), Tom Eason (Martha), Jo White (Darryl), and Brandi Christopher (Scott); 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Harvey (Cheryl); several nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 20 from 10am to 12pm with a Full Firefighter's Funeral at 12pm at Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company on University Avenue.
