Help us celebrate Claramel B.! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Claramel B..
Retired elementary school educator Claramel B. King departed this life early in the morning on July 13, 2022 at the age of 89 peacefully at home.
Aunt Clara, as she was affectionately called, was a devoted Christian and a member of Central RMUE Church serving on the Women's Auxiliary Board and the choir. Although she was physically unable to attend church in recent years; she continued to worship the Lord through daily prayer and song. Her constant mantra was "Trust in the Lord".
Aunt Clara loved her family, enjoyed completing the daily cross-word puzzles, watching Jeopardy, Law and Order, and Family Feud. She was fond of the NBA and was a loyal Lakers fan. She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook, and baker - the annual Fruit Cake will surely be missed.
Aunt Clara was a fashionista before the term was coined. She was always in immaculate attire and wore lovely hats to Sunday services. For her, it was sacrilegious to attend church without wearing a hat.
Family and close friends will fondly remember Claramel's attention to detail and being a stickler for pronouncing words correctly, especially her name.
Claramel was a loving daughter, wife, sister, and aunt. The family members that preceded her in death were : parents, Frederick and Sadie Brown; husband, William Henry; sisters, Betty, Helen, and Mary; brothers, Arthur, Frederick, William, and Lawrence.
The surviving family members that will cherish her memory include: brother, Kenneth; brother-in-law Harold; sisters-in-law, Patricia and Francis; nine nieces, seven nephews; numerous grandnieces and nephews; great-grand nieces and nephews; great-great grand nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
