Claire Weston

Claire Ruth Gomberg Weston, age 95, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2023.

Claire was born on June 27, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Benjamin Gomberg and Rose Edith Levin Gomberg. Claire earned a B.A. in journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia, afterwards working at Pageant Magazine. Later, while working at Gimbels, she played Pinocchio in their famed Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia.

She married Sheldon Jay (Weinberg) Weston, an engineer, on August 13, 1958. They had one daughter, Karen Anne "Westy" Weston Brack, who was born in El Paso, TX. The family later moved to Brooklyn, NY, and then to Dallas.

Claire is survived by her daughter Karen and son-in-law Martin Randolph (Randy) Brack; stepson Jon Weston; stepdaughter Laurie Ericson, nieces and nephews, and their families. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her brother Seymour (Sy) Gomberg; her parents; and a great many aunts, uncles and cousins.
