Goshen - Beloved wife, mother, and sister, Cindy Lea Seel, 61, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Goshen Hospital. Cindy was diagnosed with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) several years ago and continued to fight until the very end.
Cindy was born November 3, 1960 in Howell, Michigan to Clifford Lee and Betty Jean (Burt) Gillespie.
She grew up in Brighton, Michigan where parts of her family still reside. She attended Ferris College where she took an interest in Human Resources along with Medical Coding and Billing.
She met James "Scott" Seel in 1980, when both were a part of the Ferris Marching Band. Married February 20, 1982 in Brighton, Michigan; Cindy and Scott enjoyed 42 years together.
Cindy received her Masters from The University of Notre Dame ('92) then later returned to her alma mater, Ferris State University ('15) where she earned her Doctorate in Community College Leadership.
She worked for St. Joe Hospital in Mishawaka for over half of her career. Throughout her professional career she was a practice manager, a collegiate professor and advisor professional within her field.
Cindy loved her family and is survived by her husband, James "Scott" Seel, and their three daughters, Katie Seel, Goshen, Becky Seel, Brownsburg and Mary Seel, Goshen. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Orndorf, Brighton, Michigan.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred "Butch" Gillespie.
Cindy was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed planning parties and events for family and friends. She loved sewing, family game nights, reading and Jeopardy. She will be missed and loved but never forgotten.
According to her wishes, cremation will take place.
