Christopher Thomas Houghton, age 55 of Rutledge, died July 1st, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Cochran. He is survived by his wife, Kimberlan Houghton; son, Mattson Houghton; daughter and fiance', Anna Houghton and Sid Seccuro, daughters and son-in-law, Brittany Mote, Chelsey and Matthew Boring, Catherine Mitchell; father and step-mother, Eddie and Lisa Houghton; and four grandchildren.
His career began in law enforcement with Rockdale County Sheriff's Office and City of Conyers. Chris later operated Harley Davidson of Atlanta and Great South Harley Davidson. In retirement Chris developed his fishing hobby into a successful guide service, Strike Zone Fishing Adventures in Mexico Beach, Florida. He loved fine dining and live music. Chris enjoyed his family, his dogs, deer and duck hunting, and countless friends.
Funeral services will be held July 9, 2022 at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Cortt Chavis officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Chris wanted his remains to be built into an artificial reef for his family and friends to fish on.
