Mr. Christopher "Chris" Dwayne Ford, age 51 of Ellijay, GA passed on Saturday November 27th, 2021 at his residence. He was born on June 1st, 1970 to his parents Charles Perry Ford, Sr. (late) and Barbara Jean Talton Ford in Atlanta, GA. Chris was a graduate of Georgia Southern University and a career police officer with the Lilburn PD, Kingsland PD and most recently the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department for 16 years. He was also member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday December 1st, 2021 from the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Pastor Josh Moyers, Mr. Eddie Walters and Mr. Jeff Hicks officiating. Music will be by the FBC Choir led by Min. Scott Eaton. Police Honors will follow at the Ellijay City Cemetery with Honor's provided by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department. Pallbearers will be Nathan Ford, Jacob Porter, Joshua Haney, Nathan Cornn and Robert Ford.
Chris is survived by his wife, Marcy Ford of Ellijay, children, Brooke Mkenzy Ford, Morgan Grace Ford, Austin James Clarkson, Noah Aaron Ford and Max Isaiah Ford, mother, Barbara Jean Ford of Loganville, GA, sisters, Robin Porter of Marietta, GA, Roxanne Wills of Loganville, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Chuck), Jr. and Amy Ford of Loganville, GA.
The family is receiving friends from 11:00am-1:45pm on Wednesday December 1st at the Logan Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Chris' memory to the FBC of Ellijay Benevolence Fund at 164 Dalton Street Ellijay, GA 30540.
