Christine Woodward November 4, 1946 - March 30, 2022 Christine Woodward was called from this earth on March 30, 2022. Christine Woodward relinquished her "earth-suit" on March 30, 2022 at the age of 75. Born Christine Phillips November 4, 1946 in Oakland, California, where she continued to live and attend Oakland Public Schools and CAL State University Hayward; graduating as an Elementary School Instructor. Christine taught in Newark until 1990 then moved to Sebastopol with her husband, two horses, three cats and a dog; and began teaching at Steele Lane School, Santa Rosa. Christine thoroughly enjoyed teaching and engaging with every student. Nothing gave her more pleasure than to recognize a previous student now as a grown adult successfully participating in today's hectic society, and to wish them good-blessings. In retirement Chris received great pleasure and satisfaction by learning botanical art using colored pencils, training her dogs, and being a member of a mysteries book club. She also continued using her teaching skills by volunteering as a docent for the Laguna de Santa Rosa, and by participating with her dog Darby in Paws As Loving Support (PALS). Chris and Darby were active in the PALS Read-to-a-Dog Program at the public library. Young children would practice their reading skills by reading to Darby. Darby was a good listener, never critical, and while still listening, would often fall asleep propped against the children's lap. Services will be small and private. The family regrets having to let Christine go; but, in lieu of any flowers or family gifts, the family would like to have Christine honored with donations to PALS. https://www.pawsaslovingsupport.org (https://www.pawsaslovingsupport.org)
