Christine "Chris" Wall, 74, of Wallingford, beloved wife of David Henry Wall III, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her home with her cherished daughter, Sara, her grandson, Caleb and her beloved husband, Dave by her side after a long, valiant battle with cancer. She was born March 8, 1948 and raised in Setauken, Long Island by the late Charles and Adrienne Lind. Chris began her career graduating from Lenox Hill as a Registered Nurse which she was so incredibly proud of. She later went on to get her B.S. in Psychology from Charter Oak. When Chris moved to Connecticut in the 1970's, she began working at Yale New Haven Hospital in the emergency room, critical ICU and she also ran the IV team. She loved running the IV team because it enabled her to move around throughout the hospital to meet different people. She then went to work at Veteran's Memorial Hospital as a nurse manager and was essential in helping to create Medi-Quic. Chris also worked at Midstate Medical Center as an emergency room nurse manager and then spent some time at Pyramid Primary Care as an office manager where she loved working with the elderly and helping to educate patients. She went on to work for First Coast Medicare where she met many great friends and finished out her career working as a visiting nurse for both the VNA of Wallingford and for Encompass. Chris loved being a nurse and having the opportunity to make true connections; she enjoyed helping people during their hardest times and always made them feel more like a person than a patient. As a visiting nurse she would often bring her patients their favorite treats; she loved just sitting and talking with them. Chris loved to learn new things, loved to create, loved to organize, loved giving back and loved just being a part of things. She learned to play several musical instruments including harmonica and drums, she belonged to a play reading group and she made fidget quilts for those with Alzheimers. Chris also was an administrator for the Wallingford Community Forum; she loved Pat and Wayne's message of helping the community and being kind. Chris found great joy spending time amongst her friends whether it be Zumba, book club, quilting or planning amazing meetings as the Red Hat Society Queen. Above all, and most importantly, Chris loved her family fiercely. She would say they were her reason to fight; the thought of leaving them was unbearable. They were her "fight song!" In Chris's words, "F**K CANCER!" Chris is survived by her husband, Dave; her son, David Wall and his wife, Suzanne; her son, Matthew Wall and his wife, Stacey; her daughter, Sara Wall; her precious grandbabies, who were her light in the darkness, Benjamin, Oliver, Wesley, Meghan, Jenna and her best buddy, Caleb; her sister, Robin Robertson and her husband, Don; her brother, Carl Lind and his wife, MaryJo; her brother-in-law, Jim Wall; and many very special nieces, nephews, extended family members and beloved friends as well as her devoted dog, Brady. She will be truly missed. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Scott Gettinger, Halley and Kelly of Smilow Cancer Center; the wonderful nurses and staff of the Franciscan Home Healthcare and Hospice; as well as everyone who helped her on her journey. Chris's family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., on Tuesday, November 22nd from 4:00 - 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd at 9:00am in the funeral home's chapel. Interment will immediately follow at In Memoriam Cemetery. www.wallingfordfh.com
