Christine C. Trenholm - 1930 - 2021 - Greenfield - Christine C. "Chris" Trenholm, longtime resident of Greenfield and more recently of The Atrium at Cardinal Drive in Agawam, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2021. Born Christine Gail Clark on October 3, 1930, she was the daughter of Raymond L. and Myra J. (Watson) Clark.
Chris grew up with her two older sisters Edith and Shirley on their family's dairy farm in East Longmeadow, and in her youth spent many hours helping to care for the animals and accompanying her father Ray on his milk deliveries. After attending Classical High School and receiving her Bachelor's degree from Trinity College in Springfield,
Christine became administrative assistant to the Principal of Minnechaug Regional High School in Wilbraham, where she met her future husband, Richard Trenholm. She received a second degree from Bay Path University and subsequently embarked on a career in Business Education, teaching typing, shorthand, and later, computer skills in Greenfield High School, Frontier Regional School, and Brattleboro Union High School.
A tireless, dedicated teacher and advocate for her students' educational growth, she received the Vermont Teachers Association Business Education Teacher of the Year award in 1984. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Greenfield and later, the First Congregational Church of Sunderland.
Christine was predeceased by her two sisters, Edith L. Clark and Shirley Clark Christianson Creanza, and by her husband, Richard I.Trenholm. She is survived by her sons David Trenholm and his daughter Morgan of Northampton and Mark Trenholm and his daughter Maya of Athens, Vermont.
A private family burial will be held on Saturday, September 17th at the Greenlawn Cemetery in East Longmeadow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chris's name to the First Congregational Church, 91 S Main St, Sunderland, MA 01375 Sunderland or the charity of one's choice.
