Christine Long nee Wagner was called home to heaven on July 17, 2023. The world will not be the same without her beautiful smile, vibrant personality, big heart, and bold example of how to live life to the fullest. She loved hard and laughed big. She was always fashionable, ever full of style and grace, and truly a force to be reckoned with.
Born July 6, 1938, to Andrew and Agnes Wagner in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she became a resident of Stuart in 1974. She and her husband Russ owned Accurate Services, an answering service on "confusion corner" before moving on to other entrepreneurial ventures until she retired.
She was fiercely independent, a talented businesswoman, hard worker, and loyal friend. She valued her role as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother- right until the end. Christine taught us what it means to be a good friend and how family is the most important thing of all.
Christine is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her loving husband Russell. She is survived by two sisters, Claire Ugowski of Franklin, WI, and Carol DeMarco of Raleigh, NC. Also survived by her children Russell (Janet Nelson) Long, David (Janet) Long, Daniel (Kim-Marie) Long, Eric (Colleen) Goelz, and Randy Long, with 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 East Tenth Street, Stuart, FL, on Saturday July 29 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Treasure Coast Hospice.
